Chief Technology Officer, Alumni Association

Elizabeth Turrisi joined the UVA Alumni Association as Chief Technology Officer in November 2021 to lead the Alumni Association’s technical vision and provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the Data and Technology team. Partnering and collaborating with Alumni Association staff, the University, University Information Technology Services, and University Advancement, Elizabeth will lead the team to develop and manage the architecture and technology roadmap to optimize resources, improve customer service, and ultimately increase alumni ‘connectedness’ to the Association.

Executive Director of Federal Government Relations and Special Assistant to the President

Julia Smith has accepted the position of Executive Director of Federal Government Relations and Special Assistant to the President. A graduate of Dickinson College, Julia will be the University’s first full-time federal government relations professional.

Executive Director, Cancer Programs

Corley previously served as Assistant Vice President, Advancement Strategic Initiatives at the Darden School Foundation where she is the senior leader and fundraiser. She achieved the Foundation’s largest contribution in 2021 of $44 Million, the School's largest by a living donor.

School of Medicine Chief Operating Officer

Jeremy Sibiski joins the School of Medicine leadership team as Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2022. He is relocating from the University of Florida, where he is the Executive Director for Finance and Administration as well as Executive Vice President of the Florida Clinical Practice Association. His office serves the University of Florida College of Medicine by leading the budgeting and financial reporting operations while also supporting recruitment and retention for the faculty and staff.

Civil Rights Investigator

The University of Virginia has announced the appointment of Rob Staude as Civil Rights Investigator, Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights.

Rob will assume his position at UVA on September 20. As a Civil Rights Investigator, Rob will support the University’s response to Title IX complaints consistent with its Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence by conducting prompt and equitable investigations pursuant to the policy and related procedures.

Executive Director of State Government Relations and Special Assistant to the President

Alexis brings significant experience working with government officials and has served as President and CEO of the Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce since January 2018. In this role, she has advocated on behalf of more than 500 members on a wide array of policy issues and led the Chamber’s Legislative Committee in developing a legislative agenda that they present annually to state officials prior to the General Assembly session. She has served on the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission and on the Secretary of Commerce and Trade’s committee on paid family and medical leave.
