Research Computing Development and Operations Engineer

Ognen Duzlevski has been appointed as Research Computing Development and Operations Engineer joining the Computing and Data Resource Exchange team at the University of Virginia. Ognen assumed his new role March 27th.

In this capacity, Ognen will be responsible for implementation of system enhancements on top of existing solutions, connecting user support and system services, operating in UVA’s high performance computing environment.

Director of Finance, Facilities Management

Blake Watson will be joining the Facilities Management team as the Director of Finance on May 30, 2017.  Within this role, Blake will oversee the accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable, and payroll support for a total business portfolio that exceeds $360M.

Executive Director of The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities

The Virginia Foundation for the Humanities (VFH) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew S. Gibson as executive director. With deep knowledge of and passion for the public humanities, experience leading diverse and innovative public humanities programming, and extensive relationships with humanities scholars and partners across Virginia and the nation, Gibson will lead VFH after having served as the organization’s director of digital initiatives and creator and editor of its Encyclopedia Virginia for eleven years.

Assistant Vice President for Title IX Compliance

The Office of the President and the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights are pleased to announce that Emily Babb will be joining the University of Virginia on May 1, 2017, as its new Assistant Vice President for Title IX Compliance.

Associate Dean for Advancement

Niles Eggelston has been appointed Associate Dean for Advancement in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Virginia. Niles assumed his new role June 26.

Vice President for Research

Melur K. “Ram” Ramasubramanian has been appointed UVA’s Vice President for Research.

Ramasubramanian assumed his position on August 8 and will report to the President. He is currently program director for the Engineering Research Centers program at the National Science Foundation and D.W. Reynolds Distinguished Professor and department chair of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University, with a joint faculty appointment as professor of bioengineering.
