Dawna comes to Darden from mbaMission, the premier MBA consultancy founded by Darden graduate Jeremy Shinewald (MBA ‘03), where she has served as Chief MBA Strategist and Senior Consultant. Previously, Dawna served as Director of Admissions at the Tuck Graduate School of Business at Dartmouth College for 11 years. Prior to Tuck, from 1990 to 2005, she served in various leadership roles at Darden, including five years as Admissions Director and as Director of Alumni Relations.
The University of Virginia Board of Visitors on Friday September 15, 2017 unanimously voted to name James E. Ryan as the University’s next president.
A widely respected and accomplished educator and legal scholar, Ryan earned his law degree from UVA and previously served on the School of Law faculty. Since 2013, he has served as dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Charles William Eliot Professor of Education.
John brings more than 17 years of experience as an HR leader in higher education. In his previous role as a Human Resources Associate Vice President at The George Washington University (GW), John leveraged data and analytics to develop and direct strategies in support of the university’s ability to recruit, motivate, engage, develop, and reward employees. This included leadership of compensation administration, benefits strategy, wellness, work-life effectiveness, and rewards and recognition programming. He also served as Executive Director of Compensation Administration at GW.
Adrienne Ommaya currently serves as the Director of IT Audits for the University of Virginia Internal Audit Department. Over the past 18 years, she has worked in audit and risk management in a variety of industries, including education, financial services, technology, legal, and hospitality, serving in various capacities, including Interim CIO, IT Senior Director and head of Internal Audit. Adrienne possesses a deep knowledge and focus on strategic and risk-based models for audit and risk management functions.
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Damon R. Wade as Associate Dean for Student Services and Enrollment Management. Damon assumed his role August 21, 2017. Within this role, Damon will oversee student admissions, registration, retention services, marketing and communications, and outreach and recruitment services.
The Office of the President and the Office for Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights are pleased to announce Charlotte Breen as Title IX Investigator. Breen assumed her new role July 10th.
