A speaker, writer and convener in the health care field — notably in health care services and the interplay between business and government — she is a leader in the area of the economic benefits of gender parity in business and society.
As Director of Real Estate Asset Management for the UVA Foundation, Maryellen Dolan is responsible for developing and implementing real estate asset management strategies and leading the Foundation’s team of asset management and facilities operations professionals. While holding senior positions with institutional investors prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Dolan acquired extensive experience in all areas of real estate ownership and development, including the management of joint venture equity investments, acquisitions, and asset management.
Michael has worked for investment banking houses as an analyst, bond trader and Asian equity salesperson in a career spanning 32 years. The last 12 years of his Wall St career was with Morgan Stanley in NY, Singapore and San Francisco selling Asian equities to institutional fund managers. Michael’s community service efforts included mentoring students from the East Bay College Fund (now Oakland Promise) and tutoring students on financial literacy. His UVA service included chairing the Zeta Psi Capital Campaign.
Lee Harper joins the College Foundation as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Lee came to the Foundation after 26 years at Southeastern Asset Management, a Memphis-based $15 billion investment management firm focused on long-term, concentrated, engaged value investing in equity securities. As a principal, Lee built the external relationships and internal infrastructure related to the revenue side of the business through the firm’s significant expansion.
Kevin Barry joins the University of Virginia as the Director of Development for the College Foundation. Kevin comes to UVA with seven years of experience in higher education, with the past four being spent with the University of Maryland. While at Maryland, he worked in several roles within development, including time with the School of Public Policy, Annual Giving, and most recently Gift Planning.
Alex Fritz joined the College Foundation as Director of Development, Principal Gifts, in November 2019. Alex is an accomplished development professional with over 17 years of experience in higher education fundraising. He began his career as a CPA with Deloitte before transitioning to Sara Lee Corporation where he managed various responsibilities in financial planning and customer logistics.
