Director of Compensation

Wanda Evans joins UVA Human Resources from Cone Health where she served in a Compensation leadership role since 2016. During the course of her tenure, Wanda played a critical role in leading the career architecture and compensation redesign projects. Prior to joining Cone Health, she held leadership and various other positions in Compensation with UNC Health and Duke Health.

As Director of Compensation, Wanda will serve as part of the Total Rewards leadership team as well as lead the compensation and classification function for UVA.

Assistant Vice President, HR Talent

John Lew has joined the University of Virginia community as the next Assistant Vice President, HR Talent. John has spent almost three decades working in various HR positions across both health care higher education. He joins UVA from Elon University where, since September 2015, he has served as Executive Director for Human Resources. Prior to Elon, he was Assistant Vice President for HR Operations and Strategy at the multi-site Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Chief Executive Officer and Chief Learning Officer, UVA Darden Executive Education

The University of Virginia Darden School Foundation announced today that Ashley Williams has been selected as the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Learning Officer of UVA Darden Executive Education, Lifelong Learning and Non-Degree Programs. Williams is currently Global CLO of McKinsey Academy, the arm of McKinsey & Co. that provides digital and in-person leadership development for its clients. Williams will assume her new role at Darden April 1.

Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director, IM-Rec Sports

Erica has an extensive background in fitness, sport and recreation management spanning a career of 28 years. For the last 20 years she has worked at UVA in the IMRec, Athletics and Human Resources departments providing program, project and personnel management including oversight of IMRec internal, daily operations, spear-heading many initiatives like the Hoo’s Well employee wellness program, the Ufirst HR Transformation project and establishing two academic classes within the Kinesiology department to name a few.

Co-director for Academic Affairs, Democracy Initiative

The University of Virginia’s Democracy Initiative has announced the selection of Laurent Dubois as its co-director for academic affairs. Pending final approval from the University’s Board of Visitors, Dubois will partner with Melody C. Barnes, the initiative’s co-director for policy and public affairs, in providing leadership to shape the project’s development and direction.

Director of Data Analytics & IT Support

Johann Reinicke will join the Arts & Sciences (A&S) Dean’s office team as the Director of Data Analytics & IT Support. Johann is a local to Charlottesville, having grown up in Batesville, and has served the University in multiple capacities over the past 15 years. He started his career in IT support, worked as a Finance Lead for Student Financial Services, was a Scrum Master and Team Lead for the Managerial Reporting Project, and most recently served as Manager, People Analytics & UVA HR Deputy Data Steward.
