Director of Compensation

Wanda Evans joins UVA Human Resources from Cone Health where she served in a Compensation leadership role since 2016. During the course of her tenure, Wanda played a critical role in leading the career architecture and compensation redesign projects. Prior to joining Cone Health, she held leadership and various other positions in Compensation with UNC Health and Duke Health.

As Director of Compensation, Wanda will serve as part of the Total Rewards leadership team as well as lead the compensation and classification function for UVA.

Assistant Vice President, HR Talent

John Lew has joined the University of Virginia community as the next Assistant Vice President, HR Talent. John has spent almost three decades working in various HR positions across both health care higher education. He joins UVA from Elon University where, since September 2015, he has served as Executive Director for Human Resources. Prior to Elon, he was Assistant Vice President for HR Operations and Strategy at the multi-site Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Associate, Organizational Excellence

Reid joins the Office of Organizational excellence as an Associate. He spent the past four years as a career advisor at the Darden School of Business where he worked with and taught MBA students on all aspects of the job search. Prior to that, he worked in financial services for six years at BB&T and a financial technology startup, specializing in lending, bank management, and internal strategy work related to multicultural marketing. He began his career in Mexico managing a manufacturing facility.

Associate Vice President, Health System Development

Marianne Minton Bowes joins the University of Virginia as Associate Vice President, Health System Development effective November 2020. Bowes previously served as Senior Director of Development Mid-Atlantic & Southeast at Wake Forest University where she managed regional fundraising teams toward a $20M+ annual goal and served as an integral fundraiser for the $1 Billion Wake Will Lead Campaign that was successfully completed in 2020. Prior to Wake Forest, Bowes held senior fundraising positions for the University of Memphis in Tennessee.

Chief Program Officer, Alumni Association

Heidi Crapol has more than 25 years of mission-driven leadership in nonprofit, corporate and higher education environments. Her work has focused on philanthropy, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, communications and organizational development.  Ms. Crapol began her career in the nonprofit sector in fundraising and nonprofit management with the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She later moved to the private sector where she held a number of leadership positions at Altria in corporate affairs.

Assistant Vice President and Title IX Coordinator

Molly S. Zlock comes to the University of Virginia from Elon University, where she has been the Director of HR Compliance, Equal Opportunity and Title IX since August 2020. Mrs. Zlock has an extensive background in higher education since 2010, specifically in the areas of Title IX and Equal Opportunity. Molly has previously held positions at Seton Hall University; Belmont University; and Vanderbilt University.
