Director, Real Estate Asset Management

As Director of Real Estate Asset Management for the UVA Foundation, Maryellen Dolan is responsible for developing and implementing real estate asset management strategies and leading the Foundation’s team of asset management and facilities operations professionals. While holding senior positions with institutional investors prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Dolan acquired extensive experience in all areas of real estate ownership and development, including the management of joint venture equity investments, acquisitions, and asset management.

Vice Provost for Enrollment

The University of Virginia announced that Stephen Farmer has been named UVA's first vice provost for enrollment.

Farmer is currently vice provost for enrollment and undergraduate admissions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to his time at UNC, Farmer served as the senior assistant dean of admission at the University of Virginia. He is also an alumnus, having earned a master's degree in English from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.

Executive Director, Graduate Marketing and Admissions, McIntire School of Commerce

Judi Byers was most recently Executive Director of Admissions & Financial Aid at Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business. In this role, she led strategic recruitment and admissions for the Two-Year and One Year Residential MBA programs in Ithaca, New York. Prior to Cornell, Judi served as Director of Admissions for the graduate business programs at American University’s Kogod School of Business and successfully led student recruitment and enrollment for the Full-time, Professional, and Dual Degree MBA programs as well as six Specialized Master’s programs.

Director, Center for Comparative Medicine and Attending Veterinarian

Raphael Malbrue has been named the next Director, Center for Comparative Medicine and Attending Veterinarian. Dr. Malbrue is a native of Baton Rouge, LA. He completed his undergraduate and veterinary school training at Tuskegee University. He then went on to complete a residency program in Laboratory Animal Medicine at Louisiana State University. President of the University of Virginia

The University of Virginia Board of Visitors on Friday September 15, 2017 unanimously voted to name James E. Ryan as the University’s next president.

A widely respected and accomplished educator and legal scholar, Ryan earned his law degree from UVA and previously served on the School of Law faculty. Since 2013, he has served as dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Charles William Eliot Professor of Education.

Director of Global Initiatives

Tina Mangieri joins UVA as the inaugural Director of Global Initiatives following multiple leadership positions in international education and a teaching/research career spanning four continents. Prior to UVA, she was based in Sweden, serving as the first Associate Academic Director and Director of Research at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia, a Copenhagen and Stockholm-based non-profit leader in international education.
