Associate Vice President for Finance and University Controller

The University of Virginia has appointed Olga N. Weider as the next Associate Vice President for Finance and University Controller. Weider joins UVAFinance with a wealth of experience and a proven track record in financial management. Olga is a lifelong learner who is passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, founded on integrity and good stewardship. She is committed to collaborative teamwork and solutions-based strategic planning.

Vice Provost for Global Affairs

Stephen D. Mull is Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of Virginia, effective August 1st. In this role he is the primary lead on global relations at the University, responsible for developing a strategic vision, designing outreach, and overseeing international activities. Steve will oversee institutional development of global partnerships and develop a wide array of services, programs, experiences, and strategic partnerships that promote global imagination within the university community.

Associate Director of Development, Principal Gifts

Michael has worked for investment banking houses as an analyst, bond trader and Asian equity salesperson in a career spanning 32 years.  The last 12 years of his Wall St career was with Morgan Stanley in NY, Singapore and San Francisco selling Asian equities to institutional fund managers.  Michael’s community service efforts included mentoring students from the East Bay College Fund (now Oakland Promise) and tutoring students on financial literacy.  His UVA service included chairing the Zeta Psi Capital Campaign.

Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Planning, Arts and Sciences

The Dean’s Office has announced the appointment of Tammy McHale of Marywood University to the position of senior associate dean. 

McHale brings extensive experience in higher education to the College. She leaves a position as vice president of business affairs and treasurer at Marywood, a private liberal arts university in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and she has served as senior associate dean for finance and planning for UNC-Chapel Hill’s College of Arts & Sciences and as associate provost for Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

Chief Technology Officer, Alumni Association

Elizabeth Turrisi joined the UVA Alumni Association as Chief Technology Officer in November 2021 to lead the Alumni Association’s technical vision and provide strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the Data and Technology team. Partnering and collaborating with Alumni Association staff, the University, University Information Technology Services, and University Advancement, Elizabeth will lead the team to develop and manage the architecture and technology roadmap to optimize resources, improve customer service, and ultimately increase alumni ‘connectedness’ to the Association.

Tyisha is a strategic leader with more than 10 years of experience in graduate education - with success in supporting and mentoring students from recruitment through graduation. Her data-driven and forward-thinking approach has enabled successful collaboration with numerous colleagues throughout each university community she has served.  She is passionate about empowering future leaders from diverse backgrounds that will advance science and higher education.
