Stephen D. Mull

Stephen D. Mull is Vice Provost for Global Affairs at the University of Virginia, effective August 1st. In this role he is the primary lead on global relations at the University, responsible for developing a strategic vision, designing outreach, and overseeing international activities. Steve will oversee institutional development of global partnerships and develop a wide array of services, programs, experiences, and strategic partnerships that promote global imagination within the university community.

Alejandro “Alex” Hernandez

Since 2010, Hernandez has been a partner at the Charter School Growth Fund, leading the nonprofit’s Innovative Schools practice. In this role, he helped develop and deploy new K-12 learning models in public schools across the country. Hernandez brings to UVA his expertise in linking great instruction with educational technology, as well as years of experience expanding high-quality education programs.

M. Elizabeth “Liz” Magill

Magill is dean and Richard E. Lang Professor of Law at Stanford Law School, a position she has held since 2012. Before becoming Stanford Law School’s 13th dean, Magill was on the faculty at UVA’s School of Law for 15 years, serving most recently as vice dean, the Joseph Weintraub–Bank of America Distinguished Professor of Law and the Elizabeth D. and Richard A. Merrill Professor.

Jeremy Duff

For nearly two decades, Jeremy Duff has led hundreds of high profile executive level searches in the U.S. and worldwide in the private and public sectors. Most recently he led the creation of the University of Virginia’s Talent Recruitment operation through the University’s total HR transformation for two years and is now back as the Director of Recruitment for the University of Virginia’s Executive Search Group in the President’s Office, a position he held previously for six years.

Bryanna Miller

Bryanna joined the Executive Search Group in June 2018 as a Recruiting Associate. In this role she will work closely with the search consultants on high level searches and process improvement projects. In addition, she will serve as the Special Assistant to the Executive Director, Catherine Lindqvist.

Tommye Sutton

Tommye S. Sutton, deputy chief of police at Northwestern University, has been named assistant vice president and chief of police at the University of Virginia, effective Aug. 1. Sutton will succeed Mike Gibson, who is retiring after leading the University Police Department for nearly 13 years. Gibson started his career at UVA as a patrol officer in 1982.

At Northwestern, Sutton has overseen all patrol, investigations, special event planning, security operations and the administrative functions on the Evanston and Chicago campuses since 2015.
