Nalini Turner brings more than 20 years of Executive Search experience to the University of Virginia’s Executive Search Group and has focused primarily in the nonprofit, healthcare and public sectors She has led complex leadership transitions and searches in partnership with Boards and Committees She is currently the Managing Director of the Executive Search Group, DC.
Prior to joining UVA, Nalini spent more than 13 years at a 2 large global, retained, executive search firms, based out of their Washington, DC and Northern Virginia offices. Here, her passion for working with clients and identifying exceptional candidates for the nonprofit sector was solidified. Following this experience, she worked for a highly ranked, mid-sized firm, as a senior equity partner and a member of the nonprofit and higher education practice. Her early experience includes several years at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the behavioral health hospital where she worked in research.
Nalini had worked with international and national clients and both large and small institutions. She has conducted hundreds of searches at the C-level and below for clients, including building out new teams and replacing long-tenured leadership. Her passion continues to be working in tandem with Committee Members to identify, recruit and retain the highest caliber candidates.
She grew up in the Pittsburgh area, and received her B.A in Psychology from the Catholic University of America. Nalini currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her children, exercising and staying active.
