The College Foundation of the University of Virginia recently appointed Stacey Sickels Locke as Vice President for Development. Locke brings over 30 years of proven leadership in higher education advancement including development, marketing, communications, events, and advocacy. Locke recently served the University of Maryland College of Sciences and University Relations.
As Vice President, Locke will play a critical role in planning and executing the College of Arts and Sciences’ share of the Third Century Campaign. Locke will lead an accomplished team responsible for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for major donors and leadership annual donors for the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Locke was selected for her alignment with the core values of the Foundation: Leadership, appreciation, integrity, respect, and innovation.
While at Maryland, Locke secured the largest contribution in the University’s history. She received an outstanding service award for her work leading to a new building, endowed chairs, scholarships, and research funding. She also chaired the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee for the University Senate where she served as an elected senator.
Locke graduated from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology, and from the University of Maryland University College with a certificate in Leadership and Management. She is a candidate for 2018 graduation with a Masters in Management with Nonprofit and Association Concentration. Locke is a writer, educator, and champion for the field of advancement. She holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive certification.
