With over 14 years of experience in higher education, Melissa Hurst brings a high level of knowledge and expertise in talent development, program management, and instructional design. She has directed several centers and programs in institutions of higher education, including the University of South Carolina and the University of Virginia.
Previously, Dr. Hurst developed and oversaw strategic initiatives that ensured the successful transition of UVa graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to the workplace. She was also a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Curry School of Education where her research focused on the field of STEM education, graduate student education, mentorship, and motivation.
Dr. Hurst holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration.
