In her more than two decades of executive search experience, Catherine Lindqvist has been involved in hundreds of leadership transitions in both the corporate and academic arena. She is currently the Executive Director of the University of Virginia’s Executive Search Group & Strategic Resourcing. Prior to joining UVA, Catherine worked in corporate recruiting for ten years before launching her own executive search consultancy. During this time she split her time between her home in the U.S. and Sweden, while raising her two boys. She was recruited to University of Virginia to build the internal executive recruiting function, reporting to the Office of the President, at a time of transformational change in top level leadership and a generational turnover of faculty and staff. Her experience is in global search identifying provosts, deans, vice presidents, and other senior level leadership. Catherine's true passion is in establishing trusted, long term relationships and helping build extraordinarily talented teams. She has served on a number of boards and considers her experience in governance as a source of insight for committees and leaders in handling complex succession issues. Deeply interested in the art and science of search, Catherine is certified in a variety of personality assessments to better understand the values, emotional and intellectual learnings that leaders acquire and how they translate into motivation and fit for organizations. She has a Communications and Marketing degree from Virginia Tech. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, skiing, and running marathons.
